Although the debate on whether or not to direct entrepreneurial action towards the pursuit of ESG objectives is far from dormant today, fueled by the recent crisis in the energy market and by political positions which, particularly in the USA, are particularly critical towards these objectives, the evolution of the regulatory framework at the Italian and European level is moving in the direction of sustainability, requiring in particular large and listed companies to consider in their business strategies factors of environmental and social sustainability and to “model” consequently the governance structure.
This will require the presence in administrative bodies to an increasing extent of figures with specific ESG expertise.
