The issues of environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability have taken on increasing interest in recent years, driven by a collective need aimed at improving the quality of life and environmental emergencies. In this, the European Union also plays a central role, which has placed ESG issues at the center of its agenda, giving rise to a copious regulatory production, still in progress, consisting of regulations and directives aimed at directing capital towards initiatives sustainable. This regulatory and market context has a significant impact on companies and financial and economic operators in general. Although this is a recent legislation, it must be considered that the legislator’s attention to environmental and social issues has its roots in the past.
