Anna Carabelli

Attorney Anna Carabelli mainly deals with industrial law (in particular trademarks, copyright and related rights), advertising and marketing, commercial law, international and community law, at the same time assisting Clients in extrajudicial and judicial proceedings.

She has gained significant experience in consultancy and contract law in the sector (brand licensing agreements and of protected works, publishing contracts for the purposes of printing and multimedia and online exploitation, recording and music publishing contracts, artistic performance contracts, merchandising, sponsorship and product placement contracts) as well as in the field of litigation, including before the Advertising Jury and before the Competition Authority – General Directorate for Consumer Protection (misleading and comparative advertising, as well as unfair commercial practices). She works as an arbitrator (Panelist) of the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) Arbitration and Mediation Center for the resolution of disputes regarding domain names, and for the Milan Arbitration Chamber – .it domain name service.

She graduated in 1982 from the Universitàdegli Studi di Milano with a grade of 110 cum laude and a thesis in commercial law entitled “The criterion of truth in the preparation of the financial statement” and a thesis in civil law entitled “The employer's liability for the employee's wilful misconduct”.

She has been admitted to the bar since 1985 and has been registered in the Special Register of Cassation Lawyers since 2002.

In 1983 she attended a course in international law at the City of London Polytechnic and in 1985 she studied comparative corporate and commercial law as part of the International Legal Studies programme of the McGeorge School of Law at the Austro-American Institute of Education, Salzburg Law School, Austria.

In 1998, she attended the training course on domain name dispute resolution procedures (WIPO Training Program on Domain Name Dispute Resolution Procedures) organized by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.

She is the author of:

From 2010 to 2019 she taught copyright law at the Master's in Intellectual Property Law organized by Just Legal Services – Legal Training School.

She is a member of the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Center For International Legal Studies.
