From 7 to 10 October, Hamburg will host the AIPPI World Congress, and our Partner, Attorney Fabio Ghiretti, will once again be present as a representative of the Italian group on the Committee called to vote on the resolution on online copyright infringement.
This is a highly topical issue for intellectual property practitioners: the conflict between the principle of territoriality of copyright and the "non-territorial" nature of the Internet, seemingly resolved by geoblocking, a tool designed to territorially limit the online dissemination of protected content, but now easily circumvented via VPNs. The AIPPI Study Committee addresses this issue from a private international law perspective, and therefore from the perspective of jurisdiction and applicable law.
AIPPI resolutions are the result of research and discussion among national groups and serve as a benchmark for legal debate and regulatory developments. Participating in the vote means bringing the voice and experience of the Italian group to a global discussion.
Mondini Bonora Ginevra Studio Legale is proud to see one of its professionals working in such a prestigious context, confirming its constant attention to the international dimension of intellectual property.
