Lawyer Giacomo Bonelli, associate of MBG, successfully assisted Banco BPM in the reassignment in its favor of the domain names “bancobpm.com” and “banco-bpm.com”.
The day after the announcement of the merger project between BPM and Banco Popolare, giving life to the third largest Italian banking hub, the Chinese company Lishijie had proceeded to register the two important domain names mentioned above in its own name.
The decision of WIPO to reassign the two domains in favor of Banco BPM, issued in 2016, had been contested by Lishijie before the Chinese judicial authorities.
Banco BPM, with the assistance of Adv. Bonelli and the lawyer Yunchuan Jing of Goatong Law, Beijing, successfully defended herself in all three levels of the Chinese judgment, obtaining the definitive assignment of the two domains in her favour.
