Artisanal claims on food products in Italy

We report an article on Chambers and Partners on the subject of growing interest in the ways of labeling and advertising food products: artisanal claims on food products.

In this contribution Giorgio Rusconi and Omar Cesana  examine the legislative framework and jurisprudence applicable in Italy, highlighting how expressions such as “artisanal” and “handmade” exert a strong influence on consumers’ purchasing choices and must therefore be used correctly in order not to set up deceptive commercial practices.
